Policy Development and Proposals for the Government

OBJECTIVE

To push the boundaries of government-led policies and craft policies that truly reflect the needs of the front lines through close communication with diverse groups
Special committee and policy advisory committee: Establishing a special committee composed of presidents of member universities and a policy advisory committee composed of experts in relevant fields to propose higher education policies and deliver recommendations and comments to the government
Policy forum and expert debates: Seeking solutions for pending issues and ways to achieve progress
Pending issues and conferences: Seeking measures to resolve shared challenges and pending issues facing universities and distributing the results to member universities, policy authorities, and relevant institutions to be used as reference material for policy development and proposals

Development of Higher Education Research and Policy Materials

POLICY RESEARCH AND PENDING ISSUE INVESTIGATION AND ANALYSIS

Performing basic research on major issues regarding higher education, conducting internal and external investigations to develop policy measures, and publishing policy materials

DEVELOPMENT OF HIGHER EDUCATION MATERIAL

“KCUE Higher Education Issues”: Publishing the brochure dealing with higher education themes and the latest issues
Higher education policy materials: Compiling major issues and cases
Analyzing higher education statistical data from Korea and beyond and researching the current status of member universities

Publication of a Higher Education Magazine and Academic Journal

Support for Academic Research Projects in the Humanities and Social Sciences

OBJECTIVE

To establish a research safety net that ensures the seamless research activities of part-time lecturers and researchers in the humanities and social sciences and thereby support the maintenance and reinforcement of their capacities

DETAILS

Operating the part-time lecturers’ research support project in 2019 (supplementary budget)
Operating the academic research and teaching project for the humanities and social sciences (Types A and B)

* Type A: Long-term research support of up to 5 years for researchers with a doctoral or higher degree

* Type B: Annual research support for part-time lecturers and experienced lecturers with a master’s or higher degree
