The Policy Research Team of the Research Institute of Higher Education at the Korean Council for University Education (hereinafter referred to as KCUE) held the 2nd Joint Forum as part of its ongoing study, "Development Plan for Higher Education and Mid-to-Long-Term Financial Planning," which aims to secure stable mid-to-long-term financial resources for higher education.

Following the 1st Board Forum (October 18, 2024) and the 1st Joint Forum (November 22, 2024), this 2nd Joint Forum was co-organized by KCUE’s Research Institute of Higher Education, Kangwon National University’s Institute of Educational Research, Sungkyunkwan University’s Institute for Education and Future Studies, and the Korean Society for the Economics and Finance of Education.
The first keynote presentation, delivered by Professor Lee Jung-Mi (Chungbuk National University), focused on "Implementation Plans for the Regional Innovation-Centered University Support System," particularly emphasizing university RISE (Regional Innovation System for Education) dedicated organizations and strategies for implementing RISE projects. The designated discussants were Professor Kim Kyu-Yong (Chungnam National University) and Research Fellow Moon Bo-Eun (Korea Educational Development Institute).
In the second session, President Song Gi-Chang (Sungsan Hyo Graduate University) presented on "The Current State and Future Challenges of Private University Financing," providing an in-depth analysis based on concrete data. The designated discussants were Professor Emeritus Won Yoon-Hee (University of Seoul) and Professor Kim Jin-Young (Konkuk University).
Finally, a general discussion was held, led by President Hwang Yoon-Won (Jungwon University), along with 12 university presidents who participated via Zoom, engaging in a comprehensive discussion of the two keynote topics.
The research findings from this forum will inform the development of higher education agendas and strategies for securing stable financial resources in the future.
