□ Hyang-jin Huh, President of Jeju University, was inaugurated as the 22nd Chairman of the Korean Council for University Education (KCUE). The inauguration ceremony was held at KCUE main conference room in Seoul on Aprill 8th, 2016.

□ Chairman Huh said, “there is limitation for universities to directly accept the demand from the government and the society concerning university restructuring and government-funded projects.” He added, “this is where KCUE steps in to fully reflect the universities’ demand and fulfill the social responsibilities otherwise cannot be done individually. Further, KCUE serves as the communication channel to guide the government and national policy in the adequate direction.”

□ Among the attendants were the member university presidents, leaders of the relevant organizations and government officials, including former Minister of Ministry Education of Korea, head of University Policy Office of Ministry of Education, University Policy Bureau, President of the Academy of Korean Studies, Chairman of the Korean Council for University College Education and President of Education Facility Disaster Association. The farewell ceremony was also held for the former Chairman, Gu-wuck Bu.
