□ Junyoung Kim, President of Sungkyunkwan University, was inaugurated as the 20th Chairman of the Korean Council for University Education (KCUE). The inauguration ceremony was held at KCUE main conference room in Seoul on April 8th, 2014.

□ Chairman Kim said, “the universities are facing a new challenge in the 21st century, an era of innovation.” He added, “KCUE will strive to effectively connect the voice of universities and form a social consensus by communicating and working together on the pending issues to face the realities of our universities.”

□ Among the attendants were about 40 member university presidents, leaders of the relevant organizations and government officials including Hak Yong Shin, Head of Education, Culture, Sports and Tourism Committee (ECSTC) of the Parliament, Seoksu Han, head of University and College Affairs under the Ministry of Education, Choonran Park, University Policy Bureau, Byeongsun Kwak, Chairman of the Board of Korea Student Aid Foundation, Kiwoo Lee, Chairman of the Korean Council for University College Education and Yangok Ahn, Chairman of the Korean Federation of Teachers’ Association. The farewell ceremony was also held for the former Chairman, Geo-suk Suh.
